Congratulations to the boys varsity basketball team on their hard-fought 62-55 Senior Night victory over the Lakeside Dragons on Friday night. The win clinched a share of the CVC Lake Division Conference Championship! Congratulations to the entire team! The players and coaches would like to thank Miss Crossley, Mr. King, Mr. McQuoid, and Mrs. Blevins for everything they did to make this Senior Night so special for our four seniors. A very sincere thank you as well to our student section, who once again came out in full force to cheer on the Eagles. Your support and vocal encouragement means more to us than you'll ever know. You guys are truly our "Sixth Man!"
Attention anyone interested in playing a spring sport: The OHSAA mandatory meeting for grades 7-12 is February 24, 6pm in the GHS auditorium. A parent and athlete should attend.
The Geneva Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help set up and tear down for their Business Expo being held at the high school Thursday, February 13th. If you are interested in helping out, please see Mrs. DeBacker.
Art Club will meet from 4pm to 7pm Wednesday Feb. 12th. We will continue painting the mural in the Media Center hallway. Hope to see you there.
Good news, it's not too late for those students who are interested in going to Peru in June 2026. We are extending our timeline to sign up before the price goes up. There will be an informational meeting February 20th at 6 PM in room 305 at the high school. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Dragon or Mrs. Booth.
Attention Juniors & Seniors: Hocking Hills College will be here during Second Period on Tuesday, February 25th. If you are interested in hearing more about this school, sign up on the Google Form that was sent to you.
Attention Seniors: There are several scholarship opportunities for you: The Ian Minnick Memorial (Music and the Arts) Scholarship awards a renewable $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is continuing their studies in music or the arts.The Grand Lodge of Ohio of Free and Accepted Masons is offering three $1500 scholarships in their 5-county district. The First Commonwealth Bank Scholarship is open to all students who have at least a 3.0 GPA. The Ohio Natural Energy Scholarship is open to students who have a career goal of working in the natural gas or oil industry. The Zonta Young Women in Leadership is open to young women who have stood out in their commitment to volunteerism and leadership. The William H Searcy Scholarship is open to all future educators. The OAPSE AFSCME Scholarship is open to students who have a parent who is an OAPSE member. The Ohio Counties Scholarship is available to students with a B average who plan to go into public service. The Northeast Ohio Chapter of the American Public Works Association
(APWA) is offering scholarships to students residing in the Northeast Ohio area enrolled in a Public Works field of study including Engineering, Administrative, Vocational/Trade, and Environmental Impact/Water Quality disciplines. All scholarships were emailed to you, but if you need a paper copy, please see Mrs. Debacker.
There will be an informational meeting for any student interested in trying out for the fall majorette line on Monday, February 10th at 6 PM in the GHS band room. The meeting is mandatory, so interested students and their parents must attend. If you have any questions, please reach out to Miss Brown.
Senior pictures are due Friday, February 14th. When selecting a picture, please keep the following guidelines in mind: All pictures should be in color. They should be portrait shots (from the elbows up). The senior should be the focus of the picture -not the background. No hats or sunglasses. No pets or props like sporting equipment. Pictures should be free of filters and writing (Class of 2025). Please email your picture to Mrs. Hull at melissa.hull@genevaschools.org by February 14, 2025.
Attention students interested in taking College Credit Plus courses next year: The deadline to turn in all CCP paperwork is April 1, 2025.
