Geneva High School Selects John Barbo to Lead Boys Basketball
The Geneva High School Administration is pleased to announce the selection of the Head Boys Basketball Coach for the 2024-2025 Season, Mr. John Barbo. Coach Barbo has been a part of the Geneva Community for over 25 years as a resident and teacher. He has been coaching basketball for roughly 25 years in many different roles and has an unending passion for the sport.
“Coach Barbo not only has strong ties to Geneva, but he also and what it means to be an Eagle and has the leadership qualities needed for this position. In terms of coaching basketball, Coach Barbo has an unmatched basketball IQ, he knows not only the game, but player development, strategy, and team dynamics.” - Geneva High School Principal Michael King
Coach Barbo was introduced to the team earlier today followed by smiles, cheers, and fist bumps.
“I am very excited to get the opportunity to coach such a talented and athletic group of kids. I've coached many of the players on this team since they were in second and third grades, so we're very comfortable with each other and can get rolling right away.
