Good morning GMS families! The 7th and 8th grade boys home basketball game that was canceled yesterday due to school closing has been rescheduled for tonight Friday, Feb 7th at GMS. 7th grade team should plan to stay after school today. 7th grade game starts at 4 pm. 8th grade team should return to GMS at 4 pm. 8th grade game will start at 5 pm. This week, Miss Boban's language arts classes are selling tickets ($1) for our Friday, February 7th Pajama Day . The money raised is going to be donated to our county's homeless shelter, Samaritan House. Your ticket needs to be presented to your first period teacher on February 7th. Without a ticket, you will not be permitted to wear pajamas and will be sent to the office to change. There will be no refunds or ticket replacements. Your ticket is your responsibility. Students will be around in 5th period study halls and lunches selling tickets. Thank you for helping support such a wonderful resource in our community. Hello GMS Families! Here are some events coming up this week! Scholastic Book Fair this week Feb 4-7 NO Extended Learning on Tuesday, Feb 4th due to conferences Parent teacher conferences - Tuesday, Feb 4 from 4:30 - 8:00 pm The book fair will also be open during conferences. Also that evening, winter coats, gloves and other clothing items from our Eagle's Closet will be available for free to those in need. Boys 7th/8th grade Basketball Game at Home vs West Geauga on Tuesday, Feb 4 beginning at 4:30 pm School Market Day Pick Up Tuesday, Feb 4 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Line up begins at 2:30 pm once dismissal is finished and buses have left the parking lot. Hello GMS families! As we start the new year at GMS, Mrs. Gullo in our art department is gearing up for some new projects. She is in need of knitting needles and crochet hooks (any size), and yarn....lots of yarn! The students are extremely excited for this new opportunity, so if you are cleaning out your closets for a fresh start to the new year, please consider donating these items for our students. Good Morning, GMS will be dismissed at 1:50 today to help keep our busses on time with the elementary runs. All events at GMS are canceled this includes, practices, games, extended learning and the band concert.

NO Extended Learning today (Wednesday, 12/11) due to staff training. There WILL BE Extended Learning on Thursday, 12/12. Geneva Public Library will be closed Thursday, 12/12 through Saturday, 12/14 due to heating issues. School Dance Friday, 12/13 2:30-4:00pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance during lunch periods and students must submit a permission slip. Extra permission slips are available in the main office. Hello! Just a quick note that our Winter session of NWEA MAP testing will begin this Tuesday. Students will be taking this diagnostic testing to determine academic growth from the Fall testing in September. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday - Reading Thursday - Math Friday - Language/Writing Please remind students to make sure to bring their Chromebooks fully charged for testing. Attendance is very important on testing days, as we have limited time before Winter Break due to all the snow days. Testing will occur in the mornings and end around 10:30 am for most students.
