Congratulations to the GHS Theatre Program for a successful year! Our last General Thespian Meeting for the year is on Wednesday, May 1st in the GHS Auditorium from 2:30-3:30. It is necessary for you to attend to complete your point sheets for the year. These point sheets are used to calculate annual awards for our banquet on May 17th! Anyone involved in theatre for this 2023-2024 school year should plan to attend.

The varsity softball team improved to 5 - 2 in the CVC by defeating the Lakeside Dragons 10 to 0. Caidyn Siegel picked up the win from the mound only allowing 2 hits and 0 runs with 9 strikeouts in 5 innings on the mound. Alyssa Palmisano and Cora Brace each doubled to lead the offensive attack. The Lady Eagles take on the Edgewood Warriors at 4:30 tonight at home.

The Varsity Baseball team defended the "nest" yesterday with a big 6 - 0 CVC win against Madison. Hewitt Wilt threw a complete game gem striking out 11 Blue Streaks. The offense stayed hot collecting 7 hits. The guys travel to Madison today to battle the Blue Streaks again. The game will start at 5:00.

Here are the GHS Announcements for Wednesday, April 24th.
The varsity tennis team dropped a tight 3-2 match to visiting Saint Vincent Saint Mary in state team action yesterday afternoon. The two points came from the doubles as Isaiah Rose and Myles Colgan and Pu Amphonkiat and Logan Willsey collected straight set victories. Back at it today for the 6-2 Eagles as they travel down the road to Lakeside. Good luck guys.
The varsity softball team did not have to bunt and steal their way to victory Tuesday night thanks to freshman Cora Brace coming up big hitting 2 home runs driving in 3, leading the Lady Eagles to a 21 to 11 win over the visiting Jefferson Falcons. The Lady Eagles racked up 11 hits in all including doubles from Alexis Shuttleworth and Annabelle Bragg. Bragg also picked up the win from the mound. The Lady Eagles will travel to Jefferson tonight for a rematch.

Here are the GHS Announcements for Tuesday, April 23rd.
The varsity softball team picked up another win by defeating the visiting Conneaut Spartans 13 to 3. Caidyn Siegel picked up the win from the mound only allowing 2 hits in 5 innings pitched. Savannah Burton was perfect from the plate. Kailyn Cerjan went 3 for 4 with a triple. Alyssa Palmisano, Claire Cafaro and Caidyn Siegel all added two hits. The Lady Eagles will take on the Jefferson Falcons tonight at home.
The boys varsity tennis team took care of a short handed Andrews Osborne team yesterday. Singles winners were sophomore Myles Colgan in straight sets at first singles and freshman Shayne Miniard at third singles also in straight sets. Andrews had to forfeit the doubles, so the Eagles notched a 4-1 win to improve to 6-1 on the season. The varsity netters entertain Saint Vincent Saint Mary today in a state team contest, weather permitting. Good luck Eagles.

Here are the GHS Announcements for Monday, April 22nd.
The varsity tennis team finished second on Saturday in the Ashtabula County Invitational Tennis Tournament. Individual flight winners were senior Isaac Riddell at first singles and freshman Logan Willsey at third singles. Taking second at first doubles were sophomores LJ Stark and Myles Colgan while second singles entrant Kaden Brewster and the second doubles team of Pu Amphonkiat and Noah Peterson collected third place medals. Good job guys.
The varsity softball team picked up its 3rd straight win by bunting and stealing its way to a 18-0 victory over Cardinal Mooney at the Joanne Kernan Strike Out Cancer tournament on Friday at McCune Park in Canfield. Annabelle Bragg had another dominating performance on the mound only allowing 2 hits and earning 10 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Alyssa Palmisano went hard for her 3rd homerun on the season and Kailyn Cerjan was perfect from the plate going 4 for 4. Caidyn Siegel, Annabelle Bragg, Cora Brace, and Alexis Shuttleworth all had 2 hits each.

The varsity softball team improved to 2-2 in conference play last night by defeating Conneaut 19 to 0. Annabelle Bragg was dominating on the mound with 10 strike outs and only allowing 1 hit in 5 innings. The team combined for 18 hits led by Claire Cafaro’s grand slam and Alyssa Palmisano’s solo home run. Savanna Burton and Bailey Evangelista each added 4 hits for the Lady Eagles.
The JV softball team beat Chagrin Falls 16-3 yesterday. Brooklyn Phillips earned the win on the mound with 10 strike outs. The team stacked up 14 hits with Ashlyn Palmer and Phillips earning 4 hits a piece. The Lady Eagles face off against West Geauga on Monday. Go Eagles!
The boys’ varsity tennis team made an early season statement in the CVC Lake Division with a 5-0 shutout of the visiting Edgewood Warriors last night. Here are the GHS Announcements for Wednesday, April 17th.
The varsity softball team came back from a 4 run deficit by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th and tacking on another 4 in the bottom of the 6th. They defeated the visiting Kirtland Hornets 10 to 5 behind the combined pitching efforts of Annabelle Bragg and Caidyn Siegel. Alyssa Palmisano and Annabelle Bragg led the offensive attack with 2 hits each while Savannah Burton went 1 for 3 but drove in 3 RBIS and had 3 stolen bases on the night. The Lady Eagles will travel to Conneaut Thursday for their next game.
Congratulations to our Geneva JV Tennis Team on a convincing 5-0 win over West Geauga. Ethan Taylor, Noah Peterson, and Cameron Yost got strong wins at singles with Boston Parrish/Mayank Yadav, and Aiden Dimos/Owen Lacey cruising to doubles wins. We’re back on the court tonight versus Madison. Go Eagles!

Winning two of the three points were freshmen singles players Kaden Brewster at second singles and Logan Willsey at third singles. The boys’ varsity tennis team collected their first CVC win last night with a tight 3-2 win at Jefferson. Garnering the three points were Sophomore Pooh Amphonkiat at third singles, sophomore Isaiah Rose and freshman Logan Wilsey at first doubles and junior Noah Peterson and sophomore Ethan Taylor at second doubles. A great team win as they begin league action. The team travels to Gilmour today. Good luck gentlemen.
The varsity baseball team had a big bounce back win yesterday against Lakeside 15 - 2. Hewitt Wilt led the way offensively going 3 for 3 with a triple and a homerun. Both Logan Queen and Shea Arkenburg added two hits apiece. Shea picked up the win on the mound pitching 3.1 innings and striking out 8 and only allowing 1 hit. Andrew Oros also pitched great striking out 4.

Here are the GHS Announcements for Wednesday, April 10th.
The varsity baseball team opened up CVC Conference play last night losing a close one,3-2, to the Lakeside Dragons. Hewitt Wilt pitched 5 innings giving up 2 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 8. Curtis Maier led the eagles offense with a triple and Logan Queen had a single and an RBI. The Eagles are back at it today at home against the Dragons!
In softball, Caiden Siegel struck out 13 batters and only allowed 4 hits in 5 innings to lead the varsity team to a 15 - 0 win last night over the visiting Lakeside Dragons. Alyssa Palmisano led the offensive attack with a 3-run homerun. Claire Cafaro hit a triple and Gianna Markijohn and Cora Brace each added a double. The Lady Eagles travel to Perry this afternoon to take on the Pirates.

The Geneva Academic Boosters Club needs your help to acknowledge the excellence of Geneva High School educators for the 2024 GHS Teacher of the Year Award. Nominations are open to all students, teachers, and staff at Geneva High School. You are allowed to vote only ONCE but can nominate up to 2 teachers. The winning teachers will be selected by a panel of Geneva Academic Boosters volunteers.Winning teachers will be recognized in May during the end of year award ceremonies. Nominating forms are in the office or you can vote on the form posted in Google Classroom. Nominations are due on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

GHS is sponsoring a Hats for Hospice Day on Friday, April 12th. The donation to wear a hat is $1, but feel free to donate more to this worthy cause. All funds collected will remain in Ashtabula County, helping those in need of Hospice care. The first period class that collects the most money will receive donuts.
The Geneva Public Library needs volunteers to help out with Glimpse the Eclipse from noon to 4 on April 8th. Please stop by the library to sign up for a time slot.

The Geneva Academic Boosters Team Spelling Bee fundraiser is this Saturday, April 6 at 7:00 pm at GHS.
The teams of 3-4 people will include a Board/Administration team, a teacher team, a senior class team, a quiz bowl team, and more. Who will win??
You can help your favorite team get a second chance or save if they miss a word by bringing in your change to school on Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5.
Put your change in your favorite teams container at lunch time and the team with the most money will get a second chance during the competition on Saturday night.
What team do you BEElieve in? You can CHANGE the outcome of the competition!
